TRADITIONS!!!

It's been a while since I have written, but HAPPY 4TH of JULY to everyone!! We had a great day today. I have found that creating traditions has been a fun and joyful thing that our kids have learned to count on and look forward to. Every year for at least the past 10 years we have been going to Brighton Ski Resort for breakfast on the 4th. My parents were the first ones to start going and told all of us about it. We started going every year, and now our children start asking about it in December. "When do we get to go to Brighton again and then do fireworks?" It is something that we count down the days to.
We started with just Aaron and me, then little Aaron, then one more new Libby almost every year. This year was Micah's first Independence Day Holiday. I think he had a good time.

My parents and brothers, and my sister and her family all went to the breakfast. Then we went and say KUNG FU PANDA. Afterwards, we went to eat a late lunch.

It was a ton of fun and such a great opportunity to be together as a family continuing our Tradition. I really love my family and I am so happy that we can have these great memories.

We all walked around Silver Lake. It was such a pretty day, and so much fun. This evening everyone came back to our home and we did fireworks and a light BBQ. THe kids had fun jumping on the trampoline, riding bikes, and our nephew even tried his stuff at riding a two wheeler! Way to go Kahner, you did great!! It will just get easier and easier. Without really saying, our kids didn't get to bed until almost midnight, and now here I am up blogging. Whatever. All I really wanted to say is that Family Traditions are terrific!!

Happy Birthday Mom!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! We were so excited to have Grandma home for her Birthday. Just one day before she was in Switzerland with her sister. It was fun to be together. Grandpa and Grandma took everyone out to Joes Crab Shack for dinner and then we went back to their home for Cake and ice cream.

The kids were up later than normal because of the festivities.

After all was said and done, Grandma surprised the grandkids with toys from Switzerland and Mommy and Daddy with Swiss Chocolate. Let me tell ya, that is the good stuff. It really does melt in your mouth. There is no wax in it compared to what you get here in America. I'm sure it was expensive, but my mouth has been really happy for the past couple of days. (Not so good for the waistline though!)

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY SETH!!!

Okay, so there are a bunch of pictures on this post, but not as many as I would like to be on. It just takes too long for them to load. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SETHY POO!!! We love you soooo much. It was a ton of fun to have his party. He had some of his little friends there. Austin and Evan Berrett came with their mommy and daddy for a short time. The Gatten family joined us, as well as the Snow family. We also had Grandpa Lund and Uncle Whit, Aunt Dawn and Uncle Shane, and our cousins, and Grandma Adrianne.

Seth was so cute. He would sit and pose for pictures after he opened each gift.

Jake was happy, this is just an off shot.
My cute Sethy.
My handsome man.
Me and my daddy.

Seth thought his cake was super yummy, especially the green and orange frosting. I was lucky to get the colors out of his clothes. At least it tasted good, right?

FUN AT THE MUSEUM

So the day before Seths birthday we went down to Discovery Gateway, the Childrens Museum and spent the afternoon there with the kids. (Courtesy of Aunt Lindsay and Uncle John) They gave us a gift certificate to go. It was so much fun. The kids had fun with all of the balls and hoses, the play areas with all the water, mini grocery store, mini house, lots of mini stuff. They enjoyed everything. Little Aaron liked the Helicopter the most. Mary had fun at the magnetic wall, Seth loved all of it, and Jake had a good time playing cashier.
I think Daddy had more fun with this than anyone else. Well, Aaron and Jake got in on the action. They built a tunnel that went all the way across the wall that a ball could travel through.
Maybe Jake will work at Macey's some day.

Micah just hung out in his car seat, sweet and content the entire time. He is such a good boy, and just so much fun.

Happy Birthday Adrianne!!!

My Mother-in-laws birthday was on the 6th of this month. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!! Life has just been a little crazy.
We had a great big dinner together and just enjoyed company together for her special day. The kids were so excited to give grandma her gifts. Especially the little fan that they found that only cost $1.
Mary was so happy to give grandma flowers that Jake picked out, but she took the credit. I think this is such a cute picture of her.
And of course we had to have cake, (even though grandma couldn't have it). The kids just wouldn't think it was a birthday if we didn't have cake. We had alot of fun, but really missed our cousins, Kayla and Jessie, and Uncle John and Aunt Lindsay. Happy Birthday mom, we are glad that you are our in our lives.

CONGRATULATIONS WHIT!!!

I just have to say how proud I am of my little brother Whit! He graduated yesterday from Utah State University with his BA in International Business. He had the opportunity during the time of his schooling to travel to many different places. Most of which were great experiences. There was one that I can recall was rather scary when he was stuck in Morroco. The country wouldn't let him leave because of some passport issues, but through faith and prayer, and alot of time on the phone with the American Embassy he was finally allowed to leave. We are all so proud of him. He graduated Cum Laude with an average GPA of 3.5-3.799. What an accomplishment!!

Last year he was a study abroad student and was able to go to school at West Syndney University in Australia. He went to New Zealand a couple of times while he was there, and did things so crazy (like kayaking off of huge waterfalls, ice climbing, sky diving, surfing, etc.) that I told my dad he should take out a life insurance policy on him, just in case. He's done more in one year than I think I will be able to do in my lifetime. He traveled through different parts of China, and then went to Europe where he met up with our other brother Orville. (he's the baby) They spent a month in Europe together having a good time before Whit went back to school in London for a semester. Anyway, Elder L. Tom Perry was the commencment speaker at the graduation. It was quite a treat to hear him speak. Whit was able to shake his hand as they presented him with his degree. Whit was able to go to school with

full scholarship. It was fun day for all of us to travel up to Logan, and spend the day with him. After his graduation we moved him out of his apartment and then went to Brigham City where we ate at Maddox. We love that place, and we usually only get to eat there about once a year. Dad & Mom treated all of us. (I am sure their bill was outrageous! Thanks!) Then we went to Idle Isle to get some great chocolates that we can only get there. (Dad treated us to that too. What a nice guy!)

We also decided to take the opportunity to roll Memorial Day into the day. With gas prices being the way that they are, we just couldn't see driving all the way back to Brigham City at the end of the month. It was really nice. The weather was good and we were all there, so why not. We paid our respects to my Lund Grandparents, our Great Aunt Vera, Dads Grandparents, and Dads great Grandparents.
I hope I didn't miss anyone in that. I'm sure Dad will let me know if I did. All in all it was an eventful day, full of fun. At lunch I also figured out that as adults, we are now outnumbered by the children. There are ten of then and only eight of us. WOW!! It will be fun when the boys get married and start their families. Can't even imagine the parties when that happens. It will be crazy fun!!

Baseball, baseball, baseball

It seems like it never ends. There are practices, and games, and on top of it the weather has been less than cooperative. Until June we are kind of living at the ball field. The boys were able to play against eachother last week. It was really fun to have them both on the field, and to see the comradery between them. Here is just a glimpse of the game last week. Jake is on the BATS, and Aaron is on the SCRAPPERS.
